Monoma Denmark opens 61 new youth housing studios in Helsingør

As Monoma Denmark, part of Mosaic World, we are excited to announce the opening of 61 youth housing studios in Helsingør. Scheduled to be ready after the summer holidays, these units offer more than just accommodation— it is a dynamic environment designed to create a rich community targeted at young people and students.

"We've been delighted by the positive response," says Torben Pretzmann, Country Manager Monoma Denmark. "Interest has been overwhelming, even though we've just begun accepting registrations. We are looking forward to welcoming our new residents."

The housing units are located in the repurposed Poppelgården, formerly the Elsinore Rehabilitation and Training Centre. This location provides an ideal blend of private and communal spaces, allowing residents to choose between fully furnished rooms or bringing their own furniture to personalize their new home. The work of transforming the building and common areas into an attractive community is in full swing.

"Our goal is to create a thriving community for 18 to 30-year-olds," says Torben. "This housing model is increasingly popular, catering not only to practical living needs but also to the desire for social connections."

The building is located only 500m from the train station, with a direct train connection to the Copenhagen Capital, every 15 minutes.

Key features of the housing units:

  • Each unit is a 22 m² furnished room with a private bathroom, kitchenette, and access to shared amenities including a common seating area, a communal kitchen, and laundry facilities.

  • Every unit has a private terrace and access to a communal courtyard.

  • Monthly rent is DKK 4,875, inclusive of utilities and WiFi.

  • A student card is not required to apply.

Our project welcomes not only local youth but also international applicants from countries like Italy and England. “Our housing offers stand out from others in Elsinore. We are the only youth community that does not require a student card. It gives young people who may be at the beginning of their careers, have completed their education and are not ready to move on their own the opportunity to do so!” adds Torben.

The transformation of Poppelgården into an attractive, functional community is progressing rapidly. The first group of tenants is expected to move in by mid to late August, with an initial 8-10 residents. Subsequent move-ins will occur in stages throughout September and October, ensuring a smooth transition and ample time to address any issues.
