Social initiatives
As a partner of various local initiatives, we can contribute to the personal development and social connectedness of vulnerable groups.
As a participant in the Back in the Game program by the PSV Foundation, we help people who are distant from the labor market regain perspective. Through sports, coaching, and personal development, participants are given the opportunity to rebuild their confidence and take steps toward employment or education. This collaboration aligns seamlessly with our vision of inclusivity and creating opportunities for everyone.
In addition, we are proud partners of the VVV Foundation, which is committed to improving the living conditions of people in North Limburg. The foundation organizes dozens of projects annually that contribute to social cohesion, breaking loneliness, and strengthening communities. As a partner, we provide financial support for these initiatives and actively participate in events, such as inspiring breakfast sessions and social thematic meetings.
Social management of reception centers
By seeking collaboration with local parties, we can offer more than just a roof over the head in the cities where we manage temporary housing for refugees and other vulnerable groups. We want refugees, status holders, etc. to feel at home and become part of society.
Employees with distance to job market
At various locations in the Netherlands, we help people with a distance to the labour market find a job, giving them the chance to play an active role in our society.
In Amersfoort, Steven has been our caretaker at the residential complex Het Plot for several years. As a former homeless person, Steven was initially offered housing in Het Plot, but it soon became clear that his skills and knowledge made him an excellent caretaker. With housing and a job as a caretaker, Steven has been able to set his life back on the right path.
RiverImpact - cleaning rivers for the local community
The plastic soup is a significant problem, especially affecting local populations in less developed countries. Their local ecosystems are polluted, and even if they manage to remove the plastic from the rivers, there is no sustainable solution for all that plastic.
RiverImpact addresses both issues by focusing on converting plastic waste into value for local communities. By intercepting waste in the rivers, they prevent it from ultimately reaching the ocean, and by sorting the waste, recyclable materials can regain value. One of the projects where they actively remove plastic from the river is the Motagua River in Guatemala, where about 50 truckloads of plastic waste are removed from the river daily.
Update May 2025 - RiverImpact is in the midst of an exciting phase of development. In collaboration with Fuse Kitchen, efforts are currently focused on establishing a new, compact production site. By opting for a smaller setup, RiverImpact can start operations more quickly and scale up easily if successful. This approach—starting small, learning, and then growing—aligns perfectly with the pragmatic and impact-driven philosophy of the project.
Preparations are in full swing: the large barrier in the Motagua River has been adjusted and is ready for the rainy season, which begins on June 1. Additionally, a new site by the bay has been set up where plastic collected over the past months has been sorted. This will serve as raw material for Fuse Kitchen.
